The Powerhouse Games
Year 6 with Power2Inspire founder, John Willis
Our Year 6s were invited to take part in the Powerhouse Games at the Mattioli Woods Stadium (home to Leicester Tigers) on 12th June - and they had a brilliant time trying new, inclusive sports (including Inclusive Cricket with Leicestershire County Cricket and Walking Football and Goalball with Leicester City) and engaging with members of the Men's and Women's Leicester Tigers' teams.
The Powerhouse Games were created by Power2Inspire's founder, John Willis. He established the Power2Inspire charity following a triathlon relay in September 2013. He was born without fully formed arms and legs, joined forces with able-bodied friends, Tim Martin and Henry Brown, to compete in an able-bodied triathlon relay at Eton Dorney rowing lake. The charity believes that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in sport, regardless of body type, age, disability, or ethnicity.
The children were all so amazing. Kind, respectful and gave everything their best! We are very proud as always.
Thank you to Leicester Tigers for inviting us and Power2Inspire for putting on such a brilliant event.
